Alpamayo participated in a student exchange with Northridge Preparatory School in Chicago. For a period of five weeks, starting the first week of February, twelve students from 8th to 10th grade had the opportunity to travel to the United States and expand their English studies from the classroom to the outside world.
Participating students were hosted by Northridge families, giving them a unique opportunity for cultural immersion, as well as a chance to develop their independence.
While in Chicago, our students attended normal classes. Additionally, they participated in extra-curricular activities and once a week they took field trips where they experienced Chicago’s world class cultural attractions and amazing architecture.
The field trips were absolutely the crowd-favorite during their five week stay. Despite the cold weather, they had a lot of fun going ice-skating, visiting the Museum of Science and Industry, taking a stroll down Michigan Avenue
—home of the world famous Magnificent Mile shopping district— and even experiencing an authentic Chicago style deep dish pizza at Giordano’s. But everything pales in comparison with what surely is the experience they enjoyed the most: going to a Chicago Bulls game at the famous United Center Stadium.
