Every year, members of the International Boys’ School Coalition (IBSC), an association that was founded in 1995 to promote the education of boys, get together to talk about trends in the education of young men.
Renzo Forlin and Will Murphy went to this year’s annual conference, which took place at St. George’s College in Vancouver, British Columbia, from June 26-29, to share their experiences with the best boys’ schools from around the world.
The theme of this year’s conference was Boys as Global Citizens. Presentations and workshops focused on developing the idea of a global citizenship, emphasizing environmental stewardship and creating global citizens.
Prior to the conference itself Renzo and Will met with researchers from different member schools to continue working on and refining their Action Research. Each year delegations from all over the world work together to do various research projects that they present at the annual conference.
Throughout the 2016 school year Will and Renzo have been doing research that will be presented in next year’s annual conference in Baltimore and published through the IBSC in mid-2017.
This trip was a great opportunity to introduce Colegio Alpamayo to a larger community of schools who share part of our mission and vision. Renzo and Will were able to present some of the innovative and interesting things our school does, while also connecting with school leaders from all over the world.
