After a year of intense, creative, and constant fundraising, students from grade 10 CAS completed their goal of constructing four houses in the “Las Gardenias” area of the district of de San Vicente de Cañete. More than just the two days of hard work and continued effort, it was an extraordinary experience of solidarity and communication with the families of that community.
Despite their seemingly overwhelming circumstances, the welcomed us with a smile and knew how to express their gratitude and shared their hopes and dreams with us. Our students were left to reflect about how they can improve the lives of many more people.
4 Families from Las Gardenias now have homes thanks to: Matías Acosta, Diego Bernabé, Santiago Campodónico, Carlo Chávez, Diego González, Martín Infante, Javier Lavalle, Antonio Martínez, Fabrizio Solf, Sergio Vásquez, Hugo Vegas, Santiago Villa García, Iván Zimic, Rodrigo De La Flor, Emilio De Piérola, Gonzalo Castro, Elías Gildemeister, Renato Maldonado, Rodrigo Ostolaza, Sebastián Paredes, Aldo Pereyra, Daniel Rivera, Franco Ruiz, Víctor Sánchez, Matías Caballero, Nicolás Andújar, Mateo Arce, Álvaro García, Juan Manuel Nöel, Rodrigo Paredes, Brian Stopp y Daniel Woll Buse. The volunteer teachers were: Renzo Forlin, Pedro Schmitt, Gustavo Beltrán, Marcelino Torres, Juan Chávez, Genaro García. And the volunteers headed by Claudio Cavassa of Proyecto Hogar.
